Crafty Designers' Day at Craft Junkie Too - SPRING!

Hello everyone!!  Well, it's almost Spring!!!!  yep, I said Spring.....hard to believe already!  However here in NC, we've had the crazzzziest weather.....one day it's 30 something and the next it's almost 80 degrees!  So yes, it's actually felt like spring some days, but I'm sure we have another month or so of cool weather.  But I surely cannot wait for spring!  We actually already had blooming daffodils last week....yes, in February!!  Like I said.....crazy!  :)

But Spring is the inspiration for our next challenge/theme for Crafty Designers Day at Craft Junkie Too! We were asked to create something represents Spring - flowers, new growth, etc....you get the idea.

So for this challenge, I decided to do a layout since I have so few of them completed!  I have soooo many ideas for layouts and even envelopes with pics in them and other memorabilia but they just haven't made it onto a page yet. :(  Poor Carley will be in school before I even get some of these pages done!
<Big sighhh>

Well onto my layout.....well Carley loves Sesame Street of course and so I decided to this layout using the Sesame Street Seasons and Font cartridges.  I loved the image of Big Bird chasing the butterfly with a net and of course love hearing Carley say "Big Buwrd"!  LOL

Of course, all of these pics are 'sweet memories' as noted by the metal embellishment....(I love that the little Hawaiian looking flower matches the ones on her little jacket!)

While we were outside that day, 4/15/2011 (she was 16 months old) we were checking out the tulips that had bloomed and she found herself a stick to play with....I called it her 'walking stick'!  LOL

On the bottom pic (above), she decided that she needed to rest on the front porch steps and posed to say "Cheeeeez".  Love that kid!!  :)

She was definitely enjoying her "walking stick"!  :)

Here, she had shed the jacket and picked one of the early bloom roses....I told her to smell it and she got this quirky little face!   Too funny!

Well I was glad to have completed another "Carley LO".....since I have so many of them to create! :)  Thank you so much for visiting today....hope you don't forget to check out the other creative ladies from Craft Junkie Too .

Happy Crafting and God Bless!

Crafty Designers Day at Craft Junkie Too!

Happy New Year everyone!

OK, so I know it's like the 11th, but I hadn't posted since last year!  :) Yes, I totally enjoyed the holidays and did what I wanted! Ha!  :)  I do apologize for not posting much lately, but really....I took the time to spend with my family and do some of the important things in life with them.  I did do some crafting and will eventually share them with you all.  I do have soooo many things I've created really over the last few months, but life just kinda happened and well the blogging didn't.  But they're still out there and I'll share them soon.

But it's back to the grind now...as well as the Craft Junkie Too's Design Team!  Our first challenge of the year was to create something with "cool" colors/images....like snow, ice, etc.  So I decided to do a layout because I had so many snow pictures to choose from, with living in NC!  However, then I had the trouble of narrowing down which ones I wanted to scrap with! Ugh, decisions....decisions!  :)  But I decided rather than looking thru the past, that I'd scrap one single recent picture of my daughter this Christmas!

Now she just turned 2, (10 days before Christmas to be exact!) and well, let's just say this Christmas was much more adventurous and fun with her than last year!  She was into everything.....and of course talking more now......about "BabaJesus" as she would say, Santa Clause, Rudolph, and Frosty!  She LOVED Frosty the Snowman!  We had to watch it at least ONCE a day for the whole month of December! Haha! Seriously.

Well, we've had this snowman decoration for several years now, that is just a tad taller than Carley.  She would literally have random conversations with this snowman and would say that his name was Frosty!  It was too funny!  Sometimes she would fuss at him, tell him what to do, and even sing to him! Occasionally, you would catch her dragging him around beside her.....and sometimes would pretend to feed him!  Ha!  The funniest moment however, was when we were packing up our Christmas decorations.  And it was time to pack up 'Frosty'...Carley was NOT about to part with her new friend and did not wanna let go!  It was priceless.  It was definitely a memory maker....especially when she hugged & kissed him and told him "I love you" with tears in her eyes!  :) So that photo is the one I picked! :)  Onto my layout.....

I used several cartridges on this layout.......the Winter Wonderland cartridge to cut the snowflake & the title "Frosty Kisses", which seemed so appropriate! :) I used the Doodlecharms cartridge to cut the snowman and I used the Sesame Street Seasons cartridge to cut the toboggan for the snowman.  I altered the toboggan a little since it didn't actually "go with" the snowman, but I thought it turned out cute!

I used my white gel pen for accents on the snowman and the title as well as adding glitter glue to the snowflake and the toboggan.

Loved this title! :)

The main background paper used was from Moxxie....titled 'Winter Wishes'.  The paper used for the photo mat, title letters, journaling tag, and the snowflake were from Creative Memories.....as well as the snowflake punch used on the photo.  And for final finishing touches.....the snowflake border strip and buttons were from Martha Stewart Holidays embellishments.

Well, I hope you enjoyed this layout as much as I did creating it!  Be sure to check out the rest of the Crafty Designers at Craft Junkie Too for more "COOL" projects!

Thanks for visiting!  Until next time...
Oh yeah......one more week is my 1 yr Blogoversary!  Wow how time flies! :)

CJToo Design Team Day - Fabulous Fall

Oh, yes......I believe I mentioned in my last post.....that I LOVE the fall season!
And today, the Craft Junkie Too Crafty Designers are showing off their Fabulous Fall projects for everyone to see! Check out Tracy's blog, Craft Junkie Too to see what the team has to share! :)

For my Fabulous Fall project, I chose to create a two page layout of one of my favorite trips of the year.....every year....every fall.....to Beech Mountain, NC for......Autumn at Oz!!!!!!  :)
When I was a child, (long time ago! haha!) I went to this wonderful place and it's so cool that they have it open again (but only the first weekend in October every year) so that I can take my Carley there!

Last year of course was her first time going, and my crafty mom made her a Flying Monkey suit!  It was so awesome!  Everyone loved it and could not believe it wasn't a manufactured costume!  She was such a cute lil monkey too and did so well for her first time there while being 9 1/2 months old!  :)  However, I have to share this picture below of when she was not so happy waiting in line!  :)  Priceless I have to say!
This year (at 21 1/2 months old) Carley will be going as the Cowardly Lion!  Now the last two years, I've also taken my niece Courtney which this year, she's finally going to be Dorothy! She is so excited!  But last year she was the Wicked Witch and the first year, she was Glinda the Good Witch.

Well onto the project.....my two page layout!  I promise....I'm getting there....  :)
Now every year when you "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" and go through the Emerald City, at the end they have sort of a "yard sale" type - flea market that is nothing but Oz stuff!  It is awesome!  There are all kinds of vendors there and they have all kinds of Wizard of Oz items.....dolls, purses, magnets, pillows....you name it, they have it!  :)  They even have a lady who sets up each year who sells scrapbook supplies for the Oz lover!  She has the stickers, rub-ons, borders, patterned paper, and even pre-made layouts!
This is where I give credit to "The Scrap Basket" in Lebanon, Va for my two page layout today!  However, I did change it up a little and add my own twists and embellishments of course but it was an awesome "Autumn At Oz" two page layout I thought and I had to have it (as well as some others that I can't wait to create)!  :)

For what's different than what the original layout called for is my journaling tag, button, and chocolate twine as well as the strip of brown sheer ribbon under the tag & title and the brown tulle that I added to the bottom. (Not sure what happened to the Scarecrow in this pic but Glinda joined in and that's just fine!)  There are so many characters dressed up at the Land of Oz and it's fun to have your picture taken with all of them! :)

On the second page, I added again a strip of ribbon and some brown tulle to the left side of the page which was not called for on the original instructions.  Also, I added some chocolate twine around the corner of one of the photos as well as added an orange flower with a brown glittered brad.

In the picture abpve on the left, can you see ALL the feathers on that set of wings Carley, I mean Nikko is wearing?  :)  In the picture on the right, Courtney, I mean the Wicked Witch had to try on the super-sized ruby slippers! :)

I used brown ink on all the pieces as well as pop dots under the leaves, photo mats, and the title words to give them depth (except for the orange OZ layer below).

I hope you've enjoyed my layout of the Autumn at Oz!  I have two more layouts that I got last year from The Scrap Basket to make and I can't wait to create them!

We're going this weekend again and I can't wait to take lots of pictures this year as well.....and see if there are anymore fun pre-made layouts to choose from!

Make sure you check out the rest of the design team's Fabulous Fall projects by going to the Craft Junkie Too website!  Have fun and be inspired!

Happy Birthday to Kelli! "Rufff!"

Well hello everyone!

I know it's been forever since I posted.....I don't get much crafting done these days (boooohoooo!) since I'm in college full time!  I do have so much to make though and so many ideas about to pop out of my head, it's crazy!

But this past weekend was my neighbor's granddaughter Kelli's 11th birthday and she asked me to make something special for her, so I did of course!  They have a dog named Lucky that they keep for her and Kelli just absolutely adores this dog!  And of course Lucky loves her too!  :)

So for her birthday I made her this framed layout to hang in her room of her special friend, Lucky!

The photo that Joy, Kelli's grandma gave me is of Lucky in his first snow earlier this year!  Isn't he cute?  :)

I used my trusty Create A Critter cartridge to create this puppy and to cut the larger bone images used around the photo and for underneath the "Puppy Love" stickers from Jolee's Boutique.

The papers and other stickers are from The Paper Studio.  I added his name with my finepoint Sharpie to the dog tag sticker! I used my Chocolate Traditional Bakers Twine from My Craft Spot for the journaling tag (from Creative Memories) and the button.  The ribbons are from ACMoore.

Joy said that Kelli had a fit when she opened up this present!  She said that she loved it!  I'm so glad that she did!  Happy Birthday sweetie!

Hooray for Red, White, and Blue!

Happy Birthday America!!  Happy 4th of July!
Hooray for Red, White, and Blue!
For the CraftJunkieToo's Design Team project, I created this layout using pictures of my daughter Carley when she was 6 months old last 4th of July!  I can't believe how fast she's growing up!  She was just sitting up pretty good in these pics and now she's running all over the place and trying to talk!  Whew how time flies!
But doing this layout brought back the precious memories from just a short year ago!

I used 4th of July stickers from Sandylions Essentials on this layout and patterned paper from The Paper Studio.

I used a tiny US flag banner from Jolee's and attached it with white and red star shaped eyelets.  For journaling, I just created a rocket out of a scrap of the red paper used and added a smaller white piece where I wrote my title "My Little Firecracker!" and date of the picture, then added it with pop dots.

I used the Cherry Red Traditional Bakers Twine behind the photos and used my Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge to cut the stars border, pg.78. I cut these red & white star borders at 2" and layered them. Then I added the red, silver, and blue buttons. I trimmed off one of the white stars (since almost half of it went under the larger photo anyway) and inked its edges in red and placed it in the top right corner on pop dots. I also inked the other white stars as well as the photo mats.  To finish it off, I added blue rhinestones to the red mat and red rhinestones to the patterned star mat.

I hope you enjoyed this layout!  It was fun to create!  This year I'm sure she'll either love the fireworks or hate them....but last year she liked them so we'll see!  :)
Make sure you check out the rest of the "Red, White, and Blue" CJToo's Design Teams Projects!

I hope that everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July holiday!

PS....My hubby's birthday is July 4th so check back soon for a view of his birthday card! :)

Summer Fun!

So today is the CJToo Design Team Project day and it's all about Summer Fun!  I hope that everyone has lots of fun this summer....spending time with family, relaxing when you can, and just making memories that will last!

This past Saturday I certainly captured some memories of Carley while at a birthday party for a friend turning 2!  She had a blast!  As you can see in the pictures, she was into all sorts of fun summer activities, which I turned into a fun and busy layout that I hope you all enjoy!

I cut all the words on Cricut Design Studio with the Classic Font cartridge.  For the puddle of water, I distorted an image from the From My Kitchen cartridge.  For the "Splish Splash" wording, below you can see where I used my Inkssentials Glossy Accents for the first time which I think turned out perfect!

I found some really cute ribbon with "summer!" on it that I just had to use on this layout! Also, I pop-dotted the hand cut butterfly (from patterned paper - at the top of the page) and the sun, which I cut from the Going Places cartridge at 3.25". On this I'll probably journal later, but I inked the edges of the sun with red ink as well as inked the edges of everything else with brown ink. I used my white gel pen too for some accents even under the Glossy Accents.

I have to mention one thing above on the layout......my grandmother knits all sorts of things and I was visiting her last week and saw that she had these little flowers that she had knitted. I asked her if she could make me a few for my scrapbooking. So Friday, I received a whole "goodie" box of flowers, leaves, and tiny rosettes! I can't wait to use them all. This is certainly something to treasure for Carley as she gets older knowing that her great-grandmother made them! :)  Getting to swing, bounce, ride, and swim were all "firsts" for Carley.  In a week, she'll be 18 months old and making this layout definitely captures those memories for her to look back on when we're older.  My little girl is growing so fast!  :(  <boo hoo!>  :)

Have a great Wednesday!

Happy Mother's Day to Someone Else's Mom! :)

Well I told ya I'd explain today!  :)  My husband was telling one of his friends he works with about me scrapbooking and making cards.  Well he was interested in me making something special for his wife since they have two small children.  So I went to work!  :)  I created this page layout for him to give to her on Sunday and I hope she loves it!  I was proud of how it turned out myself!

Like I mentioned last night, I once again used the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge to create the "Happy Mother's Day" sentiment on this layout.  I used the Creative Memories Delight paper, paper flowers, paper ribbon, and paper buttons for embellishments.  I used the m-o-m foam letter stickers as well, but cannot remember what brand they were.  I used the Sweet Treats cartridge to cute the tag and used the Cherry Vintage Bakers Twine from My Craft Spot to hang the tag and make a bow.  Below is a close-up of the tag.  The "you are the best" was stamped with one of the $1 stamps from ACMoore. :)

I used a black 12x12 frame from ACMoore to finish the project and viola!  :)  I can't wait to hear what she thinks about it!

I hope everyone has had a fabulous Friday!

Happy Birthday to my Mother-In-Law Nancy!

Happy Birthday to my Mother-In-Law Nancy!  We enjoyed a great Japanese dinner with her tonight!  Mmmm!  I made this card and page layout for her and she loved them!  Yay!  :)

She is all into gardening, flowers, and working in the yard so I made her a card to show just that!  I just got the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge (my new favorite) and used a bunch of different images to portray her gardening hobbies the best I could.  I also used the Sweet Treats cartridge for the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.

I even decorated the inside to carry on the gardening theme!  I loved this little wagon on the PDDU cartridge!  Too, too cute!

For her gift, I framed this page layout that I created of our family.  This was one of the only pictures of me, my husband, and Carley that we've managed to have taken so she was very happy with this layout.  Of course, anything with Carley in it she is thrilled about anyway.  I even took the time to ink the edges of everything and I think that it turned out great!  My own mother liked it so much, that well, guess what.....she'll get one too so I've gotta start hers!  :)  (Her birthday is next Saturday!) :)  For this layout, I used the Going Places cartridge for the "Family" sentiment and the George and Basic Shapes for the flower.  I really like this so much that I may just have to make one for myself!  :)  LOL

I hope that everyone is having a great week!  Happy Spring Break! :)

Rubber Ducky, You're the One!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Well I just wanted to share a project I made.....I made this for Holly!  Yes, the one that just had the birthday!  Well, see I went to her birthday party and I have to say that her bathroom inspired me to do this project!  Yes, I said her bathroom!  haha!  She had the cutest bathroom of bright colors and rubber duckies everywhere!  I loved it!  So I remembered that I had a rubber ducky picture of my daughter when she was 6 months old and just went with it!  I made this to go in an 8 x 10 frame and I hope she will love it!  I'm going to give it to her at church tonight so hopefully she won't see it on here beforehand. :)

I used my Create a Critter cartridge for this layout.
Have I mentioned that I LOVE this cartridge?? :)

Up close of the ducky and bubbles!
I used Stickles on the bubbles and water splash on the sentiment "Splash".  So fun! :)

Have a great rest of the week everyone!

My friends' baby girl....

Well here's a page layout I did for a friend of mine. Remember my first "cupcake" layout? Well her baby girl is almost 6 weeks now (wow that flew by fast!) and she had her month old pics made. So I made her a page for them AND used my new Storks Delivery cartridge from Creative Memories! (Well have had it for a few weeks now but finally just used it.) Yay! I finally got the page to her so now I can post it. :) I knew she'd see it otherwise but here it is!

I love love this layout! So pleased with how it turned out. She really liked it too! Yay!
