My Crafty Friends!

haha....yep, another baby card! :)

Good evening all.  I made this card for a co-worker and his wife who just welcomed their 2nd daughter, Maci Faye.  I made this card to keep as a wall hanging (if they choose to that is), hoping it will match their nursery (or where ever they would like to hang it if so)!  :)  I'm really bad if you haven't noticed to keep the names of cardstock and paper.......so, as usual, I used "random" cardstock and paper, ribbon (more than likely bought on clearance) and flower embellishments and brads.  I used my handy-dandy Martha Stewart doily punch again (cause I just think it's so cute....and probably because it's the only edge punch I have...haha).  I cut 'beautiful' from the Paisley cartridge and "Maci" on the Classic Font cartridge.  I had fun making this sweet, pink, baby girl gift!!  Update:  me and my family is starting to feel a little better, we're all just really weak and tired but I think on the uphill journey!  Whew!

I hope you enjoy this card as I hope the recipients of it do as well.
Pretty Pink Project!  :)

Well, good night to all......have a great Sunday!

My first Thank You card

Well, hello everyone....I finally got one of my Thank You cards completed!  Our family has been hit by the yucky stomach bug and well, I've not been feeling too creative lately.  :)  But it's slowing down so I got motivated and got this card created before church tomorrow.  Hope the recipient doesn't check out my blog before tomorrow....yikes....but I couldn't wait to post it.  :)  Well hopefully I'll feel better and better soon and can create more and more pretty things!  ;)

I used some random cardstock and paper (sorry I don't remember what kind it is) and used my new Martha Stewart Doily punch (which I think is so cute!)  I used again, random ribbon along the top and a pink brad for the blue tag (made with the CM tag punch).  Then I used pop dots and the Paisley cartridge to create my little lady bug.  Isn't she cute?  :)

Yep, another baby gift!

So for the friend to whom I gave the "My Boy" train card/photo frame (which she loved by the way - yay!), I also made her something to hang in the little guys room and add pictures of him once he arrives!  She's picked a theme of "Sports".  Well, I don't own any cartridges that have any sports images, but I did use my George and Basic Shapes cartridge to make a star embellishment (paper and pop dots) to go with the Jolee's Boutique Football, Baseball, and Basketball Dimensional Stickers and then used the Classic Font cartridge to make his name, 'Shawn'.  I used random printed papers on a Karen Foster Design 12x12 Adhesive Cork Sheet and will put this in a 12x12 frame which I thought turned out great! Sorry I didn't take a pic of the framed project but it looked great I thought! :)

Another Baby card....

Ha, it seems that all my friends are having babies, but I guess that's a good and cute subject to papercraft, huh?!  :-)  Here's a card I created for a co-worker friend who's expecting a baby boy in March!  I made the card with the intention of her keeping it as a "photo frame" where she can adhere a 4x6 or a 3.5 x5 photo on the front of her precious bundle of joy!  She hasn't received it yet, so I hope she enjoys it!

Cut from the Playtime - Lite cartridge.

Going to work on another baby card....yes, another baby!  ha!  And a Thank you card......for a dear sister in Christ at church who gave me some neat items at her Creative Memories Crop last week!  A big thanks to a co-worker friend who had a Christmas Pages Workshop Saturday using her Close to My Heart stamp products!  These page layouts are so cool and I can't wait to get them all finished!  I have never stamped before (told ya I'm a scrapbooking newbie!) and so I was slow compared to the other girls there who obviously had 'stamped' before!  There were 10 awesome page kits she provided and well...Thanks Gina!.......and like I said, I'm slow and only got two completed.....just need to add some photos!  They're posted below.  I can't wait to finish the other 8!!  ha!  I don't even own any stamps so I may have to make some investments in stamps from CTMH from her so maybe I can get my Christmas pages completed by Valentines' Day!  LOL

Speaking of Valentines' Day......I've gotten so many cool ideas for the lovey-dovey day from so many fellow, crafty bloggers and I can't wait to get creative with them!  I'm thinking....some cool, creative treats for the ladies at my daughters daycare since they all show their love so much to my daughter!

Well, until next time.....hopefully more Christmas pages and a girly baby card, and some Thank you cards! :)  Oh yeah and some Valentine treats!

My first Cricut projects!

Hello all....my name is Shelley and I'm a Cricut and Blogger newbie!  So bear with me.... :-)  I am soooo new to blogging as well as the Cricut Expression; however I seemed to have learned the Cricut much quicker than this blogging stuff!  Ha!  But I wanted to create a blog (or at least attempt to, so it can change at any moment...I'm still learning!) so I could post my first Cricut projects because I have to say that I'm quite proud of how they turned out!  I know that sounds really boastful, but I'm just so excited about this wonderful Christmas (2010) present that my wonderful hubby got me and my creative juices are just flowing, flowing, flowing!  The problem I'm having is finding the time to be creative!  Like I mentioned I'm married to a wonderful husband and we have a 13 month daughter of course named Carley!  She is my pride and joy! My Cricut now takes a close second!  Ha, just picking honey! I love you too! :-) I work full time as a computer support specialist and I'm finding that scrapbooking and crafting has been a great stress reliever....I never knew!

But at any rate, I've really enjoyed reading and browsing everyone else's blogs and getting great, inspiring ideas of crafting!  I just love it!  Like I said, I never knew how stress relieving it all can be after working on computers, etc. all day long!  So I hope that my projects and work that I post are as inspiring to many of you as your posts are so inspiring to me!  I'm open to any criticism or suggestions, so just leave me a comment!

God bless and happy scrapping, crafting, or whatever it is you like to do!  :-)
Shelley (Carley's mom)

My very first project for a dear friend's baby shower gift!  I framed it and when her precious baby girl gets here, she can insert her 4 x 6 pics! Cut from the Sweet Treats & Classic Font cartridges.

My first card.....also for a friend who had a baby girl in December!  Cut from the Sweet Treats & Paisley cartridges. Paper embellishments from Creative Memories.

I've yet to actually "cut out" a card layout on the Cricut....I just made my own with two sheets of cardstock, and wrote a personal note on lined paper attached on the inside from Creative Memories.

I've been working on some scrapbook pages from our 1st anniversary trip to Nashville TN in 2007.  I have a few pages that I completed before getting my Cricut, but I did cut a couple things on them from a friends' Cricut.  So I think they are kinda plain and I may have to go back and add to them with more Cricut cutouts!  (I'll post some of those pages later.) But we went to the Zoo (one of my favorite places) and I got so many great pictures while there!  Cut from the Classic Font & Going Places cartridges.

This is a close-up of the title and the added fur!  :)  (No animals were harmed in
the making of this page! Just a stuffed one! Ha!)

I loved photographing the giraffes while there!  Only got a couple pics of the elephants so I added one to the page. :)  Cut from the Classic Font, Pagoda, & Lite Celebrate with Flourish cartridges.

I have "birds" and "cats" pages as well that I'm working on...told you I had a lot of great pics from the zoo!  I'll post the earlier pages of the Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame and so on once I "Cricut" them up some!  :)

Have a great day!
