Happy Birthday to my Mamaw!

This is a hanging card that I created for my grandmother's birthday. I used random paper, ribbon, and embellishments along with the "Happy Birthday" sentiment and "fan" cutouts from my Celebrate with Flourish & Pagoda cartridges, respectively. The reason I made a hanging card is because I had made one for my Papaw back on Feb. 1st and I'm sure they'll hang both of them up in their camper to show off come spring! I hope she enjoys it as I was pleased at how it turned out! ;)

Everyone, have a great week!

Happy Valentines' Day!

Hope you all had a great Valentines' Day! My day was pretty good even though it started out and ended a little rough......Carley has strep throat!  So taking care of her and working from home some will be my day tomorrow I'm sure!  But I wanted to share with all the valentine cards & treats I created this weekend for all of her buddies at daycare!  I got the idea for the treat from a fellow blogger but for the life of me CANNOT remember who it was.....I feel really bad for not remembering but as soon as I do, I'll give her credit!  I liked her idea of recycling the cardboard tubes from papertowels, filled them & decorated them!  They turned out great!  Everyone liked them!

I covered them with different Valentine patterned paper I had, then used my George and Basic Shapes cartridge to cut the different heart shapes.  I used my Paisley cartridge to cut the "xoxo" sentiment to go on the treat containers.  Then I filled them with all sorts of Valentine candy. Mmmm!

I finished them off with a piece of ribbon at the top and metal brads at the bottom and some small shiny heart stickers as well.

The cards & envelopes I cut from the Going Places cartridge and added the hearts cut from the George and Basic Shapes cartridge.

Added some Valentine stamps on the inside and a doily look on the edge of the card from my Martha Stewart Doily punch, which I love to use, if you didn't know already! lol

As Carley gets older, I know she'll definitely have a hand in helping me with her Valentines as well as many other crafts we come up with!  It will be fun I'm sure!  :)  Have a great week!

So many babies.....yes, another baby shower gift!

Happy Monday!!  I wanted to share with you a page layout I made for a friend at church who is expecting a baby girl in a few weeks!  I didn't frame this one because I wasn't sure of her nursery furniture finish......wood or painted.  I know now that she will have a white crib so I'll be getting her a white frame for this page which should look great in her lavendar-butterfuly-garden themed nursery along with a 4x6 photo of little Miss Emma Grace in the bottom left corner and some journaling in the top right!  The lighting is not the best in this photo, but you get the general idea of the layout in lavendar, sage green, pink and white.
I used my Classic Font cartridge to cut out "Emma", my Pagoda cartridge to cut the flowers & stems as well as my Martha Stewart doily punch at the bottom.  I used a combination of CM "Delight" print and journaling papers and other random paper, ribbon, and embellishments.
Until next time..... :)

A Birthday Gift for Sandra

Hello!  Happy Friday Feb 4th everyone!

I ventured "out on a limb" and created something new last night for a friend's 60th birthday today!  I've never made anything like this, but had an idea and just went with it!  And believe it or not, I DIDN'T even use my Cricut!  :)  I created a shadowbox using old fabric, ribbon, button, and stickers.  I had no idea what it would look like, but just knew I wanted to create something!  Ha!  So here it is.....I really hope she likes it as well as you too!  Have a great weekend!

My first shadowbox done with fabric, etc.  (I forgot that I did a shadowbox of "Daddy-Daughter" photos for my husband for his first Fathers' Day last year....I'll have to find that pic and post it!)

Close-up

Another close-up.....The letter stickers are K&Company.

Happy 86th Birthday to my Papaw!

I made this card last night for my grandfather 's 86th birthday today!!  He and my mamaw love to camp in their RV in the spring, summer, and fall and so I thought I'd make him a personalized card for him about camping.  They mainly stay in the mountains of NC so I figured giving the card a camping "feel" with the mountains and pine trees.  My mamaw and papaw used to taking me fishing a lot when I was young but they don't actually fish themselves anymore.  But i thought putting the fisherman in the water was a nice touch!  I tried to match the colors on their RV on the card, but I didn't have any teal paper, so blue and purple had to suffice!  :)  It was a last minute decision to make this last night so I felt like I rushed thru it, but I thought it turned out cute in the amount of time that I made it in. He hasn't received the card yet today, but I hope when he does, that he will love it!  I made the card as a hanging (like my last project) so that if he wanted, he could hang it in their RV to show off to their "camping friends" when they take off in a few months again!   I'm sure like it, they have many camping memories to always share with their friends!  God bless them and I love them!

I used my Going Places cartridge for all of the images on this card, except the sun! :)  I just cut the sun by hand and attached most of them with pop dots for some depth.  I used silver brads in the center of the tires to look like hubcaps! :)  And once again, I used my Martha Stewart doily punch to create a border at the bottom to resemble the driveway edging at their favorite campground.  The Road Trip saying was just perfect for this card....also cut from the Going Places cartridge.

Happy Trails....until the next project.......(wow, I really need to finish my Christmas pages.....<big sigh>).  Happy Tuesday!
