Happy Birthday to my hubby! (On July 4th!)

Happy Birthday to my hubby!
Yep, he was born on July 4th!

(On our wedding day!) :)

Yep, my hubby is Mr. Independent naturally being born on the 4th of July! I told him he's lucky to always have fireworks for his birthday! :)

Here's the card I created for him!

I had so many ideas of things to put on his card, but there was so much going on this past weekend with the holiday, his birthday, and funerals for two dear friends' mothers as well.  So when I sat down to create his card, I just had a mental block!!  It was crazy!  I was thinking, this is my husband, why can't I be creative for him!  Then finally I just decided to make him a simple birthday card and to stop thinking so hard about it!  :)  So this is what I came up with....

I used the Everyday Pop-Up Cards cartridge to cut the present and it's layers. (Sorry, I didn't make note of the size, but I think it was 2.5".)  Then I used the Cricut Classic Font cartridge to cut "Happy Birthday".   I borrowed some stamps from my scrappin' friend Robin to decorate the back of the envelope with "happy birthday" and "hugs & kisses".

On the inside, I used matching papers which I inked and used another stamp borrowed from Robin that says "Happy Birthday From the 'Dynamic Duo'!"  This was perfect for me and Carley! :)  My husband is out of town a lot and sometimes she and I just handle things here at home and we're a team!  He loved it!  We had a family cookout on the 4th for the holiday as well as his birthday and had a great time while enjoying the blackberry cobbler I made him....it's his favorite!!

I trust that all of you had a great 4th as well and are having a great week too!  Just think....tomorrow is Friday!!!!  :)  Don't forget to link up your creative projects at Craft Junkie Too's T.G.I.F Linky Party tomorrow!
